When comparing MBA vs. PGDBM, one of the most significant differences is that MBA( Master of Business Administration) is a degree program that can only be offered by colleges affiliated with universities, whereas PGDBM(Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) is a two-year professional postgraduate level diploma program in Business Management offered by autonomous higher education institutes.
Admission Criteria
The majority of MBA admissions are made through All India Entrance Exams. Students get admitted to universities based on their MBA entrance exam scores. After passing the MBA admission exam, applicants are invited to participate in a group discussion and a personal interview. The institutes conduct GD/PI to assess each candidate’s qualities that aren’t evaluated by their academic performance or admission exam results (CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, SNAP).
Admission to this program is usually based on the results of an entrance exam. CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, and MAT are some of the most common entrance tests for this program. After the entrance tests, some colleges conduct a written test followed by a personal interview to finalize the candidate selection. PGDBM programs are available in full-time, part-time, and executive formats.

Eligibility
MBA The eligibility standards may differ from one college to the next, but the gist remains the same.
Students must have completed their graduation or be in their last year of graduation, and they must present a provisional certificate from their previous college.
The graduation grade point average should be at least 50%. IIMs and IITs, for example, require a minimum of 60% in order to get admitted.
In some MBA colleges, students from restricted categories such as OBC, SC, and ST receive a 5% reduction in the percentage required.

Students for PGDBM admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized state/private/deemed or central University/Institute with a minimum of 50% (relaxable for reserved category candidates).
