Should you choose classroom or distance MBA
Choosing an institute to pursue your MBA is a daunting task. If you have decided to pursue your MBA after graduation or you are currently employed and wish to pursue an MBA, an important question you may have asked yourself is “Should I do a regular classroom MBA or should I do a distance MBA?” This is an important question and the answer is often subjective rather than objective. So let’s analyse the question according to different situations.
It is undeniably true that the circumstances of different people are different. What works for someone else may not necessarily work out for you and vice versa. Hence it is important to understand your own situation and make your decision accordingly. People are generally under the impression that the study of MBA online is bound to be much easier than studying it in a classroom environment. This a huge misconception. Both are have the same curriculum and hence, there is no comparison of difficulty levels among them. What you do need to understand are the pros and cons of both mediums and based on your circumstances, you should choose the one you feel is right for you.
Say you have just completed your graduation and wish to directly pursue an MBA without any work experience, you could choose a classroom MBA. But one of the necessary criterias for many MBA programs is your work experience. Hence you need to gather a decent amount of work experience in order to pursue an MBA. After you have gathered the necessary work experience, you would then move forward with your MBA program. Here you are faced with two choices. The first choice is to quit your current job and join a full fledged classroom MBA program. The second choice is to keep your current job and study MBA part time; or full time via distance learning. The flexibility offered by distance learning has radically increased the number of candidates who have opted for distance learning over the past few years. You can choose your own timings to do your MBA study online and keep on working at the same time. This might feel a bit hectic at first, but you will gradually get a hang of it. You can also interact with your fellow students online and hence build a good network at the same time.
All in all, you should choose your medium of studying MBA according to your circumstances and should you choose to opt for the distance learning option, there are various institutes who provide online mba courses in India form which you can choose from.
